From the Nile to the Euphrates, "Its All Ours"

WHY JUDEO-CHRISTIANS SUPPORT WAR.

Mr. DL gives us his biblical argument why Israel owns the entire Mideast. This is a widely held belief among American evangelicals that effectively defines Zionist-Christianity. Therefore the argument deserves to be examined in detail. Dell’s entire letter of some 11 pages will be posted with our next edition. We are grateful to him for the time taken to explain what he believes.

DL writes affirming Israel’s ownership of the land, quoting as his authority Genesis 1518?21

'ON THAT DAY THE LORD MADE A COVENANT WITH ABRAM SAYING, "TO YOUR DESCENDANTS I HAVE GIVEN THIS LAND, FROM THE RIVER OF EGYPT AS FAR AS THE GREAT RIVER, THE RIVER EUPHRATES'

DH is not the only one who feels as he does. The Jerusalem Post carried a story by Haim Shapiro on September 22, 2002, stating

"Cheering wildly, some 2,500 Christians gave ovation after ovation to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon Sunday night as he told them that Israel would never compromise on the security of the Jewish people or Israel's existence."

The story went on to state that Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon was welcomed by "excited visitors waving flags of a dozen countries. As he entered, the Brazilian delegation, several dozen strong, began chanting, "Isra, Is-ra-el," as at a soccer match."

Shapiro reports that Sharon even received a positive response when he told the largely Evangelical crowd "THAT THE POPE TOLD HIM JERUSALEM WAS HOLY TO JEWS, CHRISTIANS, AND MOSLEMS, "BUT IT WAS PROMISED ONLY TO THE JEWS."

DL has presented is the most common argument about the great land theft going on in the Middle East in God’s name. He tells us he believes that God, who the majority of Israelis do not even recognize, promised the entire Mideast--from the Nile to the Euphrates--to the present inhabitants of the State of Israel. Does this not defy all logic? Most of the people I met in Israel were from Russia, and no one I met in Israel even pretends they can prove to have any of Abraham's blood or DNA. Who can trace his genealogy back for 3000 years, Not Ariel Sharon I would hazard a guess. Does ML really think the present day Jewish state is entitled to Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and more, based upon a 3500?year?old promise to an unknown someone's grandfather 200 times removed?

Dr. Robert Boody provides a scripture based answer to ML’s letter

"The Jew's premise is that they hold to the old covenant, which they do not. The branches of Israel were cut off until they became Christians and God fulfilled the promises to Abraham both materially and spiritually. They live on the land promised. Abraham was a Syrian (Deuteronomy 265), so was Laban, Rebecca’s brother. The heirs of the covenant became Christians, and later some became Muslims. But regardless of their religion, they are Abraham's seed genetically, living in his land."

Dr. Boody continues

"Since when does rejecting Christ and converting to talmudic, non-biblical Judaism make one an heir to Abraham? Jesus says the meek will inherit the earth. ‘Christians’ who believe Pharisee lies are fit for nothing but to be trodden down under the feet of men. From the greatest of them to the least, they are worthless to Jesus. They live at the expense of Christ's grace." So says Dr. Boody

Mr. ML, let’s put this in practical terms. We will offer a parable of our own. Let us say you are a favorite golf companion of a very wealthy man. He loves your Bible stories and you compliment his golf. One day, while in the cart, Daddy Warbucks surprises you by telling you he has written you into his Last Will and Testament. Because he likes you, you will inherit his Rolls Royce upon his death; and he hands you a copy of the freshly notarized covenant. Sure enough, your name is right there next to the Rolls Royce.

Seven years later you read about Daddy Warbucks in the obituary and you show up at the will reading, ready to collect your Rolls. But the judge has an unhappy surprise for you. He tells you your Last Will and Testament is not the last written covenant. It seems that Daddy changed his mind and left all his worldly wealth to the nurse who fed him chicken soup on his death bed.

The Judge explains he is sorry, and assures you nothing is amiss, your covenant is perfectly legal, but it is not the last legal will and testament. He explains that in law contracts, logic and history, the last legal document is the one that supercedes all the others. In law and in deeds, you must look at the last first. And where there is a one-sided promise such as a yours, where you did nothing to earn the Rolls, but simply accepted the promise of a free gift, the giver has a perfect right to change his mind at any time, for any reason or for no reason at all if he wishes. For instance if he thinks you took him for granted by failing to call him for another golf game. The nurse gets the Rolls Royce, because it is part of the "all my worldly property" that is promised in the later, Last Will and Testament.

In this story, you, like the 200th generation removed alleged sons and daughters of Abraham, calling themselves Jews and trying to collect the Holy Land, but having no proof of their lineage. The nurse is like the followers of Jesus Christ, heirs to the promise under the new covenant from Christ, promised in the New Testament. And the contested Rolls Royce (land somewhere between two big rivers) is long since gone from the estate, sold lost or abandon, a dozen time over.

To make ML’s case even worse, if there ever was a promise, the book of Joshua states it has already been kept. Chapter 2143 contains a clear statement that Judeo-Christians avoid, and for which Oxford Press and Scofield simply ignore and offers nary a footnote. Joshua states

"And the Lord gave upon Israel all the land which he swore to give unto their fathers, and possessed it , and dwelled in it. (44) and the Lord gave them rest round about , according to all that he swore unto their fathers; and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them, the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hands. (45) there failed nothing of any good thing which the Lord has spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass."

There is probably not a copy of Joshua 21, left in all the libraries in Tel Aviv. For what these verses say is that whatever promise God made to Abraham and to any heir that may have been entitled under him, God fulfilled the promise in full, three thousand years ago. And who is a better judge of the promise being fulfilled than Jeremiah, His prophet? Note again the words

"THERE FAILED NOTHING OF ANY GOOD THING WITH THE LORD HAS SPOKEN UNTO THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL; ALL CAME TO PASS."

The amazing brass of those who 3000 years later steal land that belongs to another with a gun, and then swear they own it based on God’s promise, when God clearly stated the promise was fulfilled to others. It is not hard to fathom the motives of the likes of Ariel Sharon, who joke about God, and may well have lied about what the aging Pope supposedly whispered in his ear. Sharon is not one to fear God for lying about the Pope. Oxford Press’ own words provide prima-facie evidence that they write bible notes for the Zionist’s benefit.

But why, Mr. ML, would you who considers yourself a Christian, ignore God’s plain statement of fact, and league yourself with despots like Ariel Sharon? You and your Israeli friends are like the golfer in the story of the obsolete will. But now we find you trying one last time to get your hands on the Rolls Royce. The Israelis do the golfer one better. They claim their grandpa 200 times removed got the Rolls, but he lost it or sold it, and now they want it back… even though they are not attached to the original owner by either genetics or religion.
